honse | FIAB 2024 Request Letter

Hey neighbor! Happy to be getting into Fic in a Box as part of this year’s Triple Crown. 🏇 _{(Bear with me as I reuse much of my letter from FFFX…)} My AO3 is roughmagic.

In the mushi-ken of fujoshi designations, I’m happily a turtle: I’ll try anything! Anything I deeply wouldn’t want to see will be in my blanket DNWs, but otherwise even if I’m not personally into something, if it’s created with a freak’s passion I’ll always respect and enjoy that. My wish is for you to have fun creating first and foremost!

If it’s not on my DNW list, it feels true to the premise/characters, and it revs your engine, go for it. This is the power of a turtle fujo! 🐢 I’ll try anything and I love to be surprised! Seriously: I've liked everything from medfet to gunplay to vore to terato to insects-- what's most important and enjoyable to me is when a kink or sex act fits with the premise's tone and setting. Maybe that's "vanilla" sex, maybe that's dollification, life is a buffet... and brother, I'm hungry.

💙 Jujutsu Kaisen

Gojo Satoru/Nanami Kento

Truly these two drive me crazy, I love to see them do basically anything. I love the dynamic of stoic Nanami and tryhard jokester Gojo who isn’t fooling him, love to see both men’s defenses being slowly lowered by the other, surprising each other… An AU I dream about seeing one day is an idol AU where Gojo is the super-talented and nigh-uncontrollable idol and Nanami is his put-upon manager, and specifically I think a lot of the social media opt-ins could shine here. Chatfic, social media, emails, fan theories, direct to fan app messages, in-universe rpf shipping with those two (and other JJK characters slotted into similar roles?) would be incredible. But truly, can’t stress enough, I just love these two together and would enjoy a totally canon compliant fic where they pine forever or maybe have a passionate but ill-advised one night stand. I love it all!

Getou Suguru/Gojo Satoru/Ieiri Shoko

These three are the power throuple we should’ve had and rarely get: I would love to see the three of them treated as a triumvirate of the most powerful and valuable sorcerers of their generation. AND they’re in love. Are they totally in sync or messy and codependent? Did Getou defect and leave Gojo and Shoko to pick up the pieces, or is it an alternate universe where the three of them are united against the threat of Sukuna and Kenjaku and the Disaster Curses? They’re all such fun personalities, I love to see them interacting and playing off of each other, complimenting each others’ strengths and weaknesses. (In particular I love to see Shoko getting her due!)

Gojo Satoru/Sukuna | Ryoumen Sukuna

I’m so into these two as fated/doomed lovers, or more practically, each other being the only one who can understand them. Love to see their contrasts, their similarities, would love to see Gojo get absolutely folded (sexually? you decide) or Sukuna barely tamed. There’s something so engaging to me about the idea that Gojo’s fight with Sukuna was an attempt to communicate with him in a way that they can understand, and that being forced to go all-out against each other is a kind of relationship. If you want to go an AU route where Sukuna goes through some villain decay and ends up in kind of a “horrible member of the main cast” Vegeta-like role, that’s totally fine with me, but I’d be just as happy to see him retain his original role as main villain of the series.

Worldbuilding

One of my favorite parts of the whole G.U. game series was the in-game forum posts: you could check up on threads that would progress as the game did, add your own posts, glean usable information— LOVED the fanart subforum too. I love the forum culture fostered there and basically just want more of that, more of in-universe stuff centered around the culture that springs up around The World. On the other end of the spectrum: always intrigued by the development of The World and what kind of a reaction there is from the academic world to a phenomenon like it. Theories, studies, maybe a survey of blog posts, etc. would be really fascinating. OCs and main characters are loved here alike, I like the whole cast of the G.U. games. (Atoli’s a favorite but genuinely, I love the whole bunch.)

🩷 Kill Six Billion Demons

GOG-AGOG

I would loooOOooove to see more of our pal, Gog-Agog! Truly whatever medium strikes your fancy, I would be down to see. I just adore her so much, I think she’s a fabulous character with an impeccable design, and recent chapters have done a lot to flesh her out. I’d love a fanmix or fan soundtrack for her in particular, I feel like her range of absurdity and grandiosity would produce something incredible. For some of the in-universe tags, would love to see some of the funky/surreal media presence she has. Whatever strikes your fancy medium-wise, lean into the weird, the goofy, the threatening, the colorful clown and deeply gross bugness that we all love about her. The Gog of it all! 💚

❤️ Chainsaw Man

Worldbuilding

I’m super interested in the world of Chainsaw Man and would love to see explorations of it. Academic or newspaper articles about the Gun Devil incident, people complaining about minor devils on social media, conspiracy theories on forums surrounding the Public Safety Division, myths and office memos about Hell, explorations of the alternate history that the world’s taken… I’m also very interested in the concept that the Chainsaw Devil has eaten devils springing from terrible and fear-inspiring events in human history and how people might slowly uncover the existence of those events after having the cultural memory erased. Like, what would the field notes of the team who discovered Pompeii’s remains in the 80s be like? (In canon, examples given of things that the Chainsaw Devil’s eaten and that people have forgotten are things like the AIDS crisis and the Holocaust, but my preference is for things farther back in human history, like the eruption of Mount Vesuvius or Krakatoa, or the existence of dinosaurs-- so not to focus on any kind of tragedy within living memory.) Depending on what thing you’d like to focus on, feel free to adjust the tone of the work to be goofier— absolutely love the idea of people forgetting about vampires because Denji ate the Vampire Devil and the online forum who uncovers this lost legacy!

Denji/Hayakawa Aki/Power

Really just looking for some fix-it, domestic bliss, “getting to be young people” post-canon type stuff with these three: they’re alive, they’re sharing the apartment, they’re maaaaybe in love? Either way, they definitely have a groupchat and Power’s literacy is only getting more strongest. I’d love to see chat fic, journal entries they’re keeping and how different they are from each other, could be slice of life or maybe getting together. Essentially some warm and fuzzy “yeah I like canon but I need to see these three survive and be happy” type stuff. And I’m always delighted to see Meowy and/or Pochita! :D

Evangelion Unit Maintenance Staff

Thank you to whoever prompted this tag, I was IMMEDIATELY enchanted by it. I would kill to see the (90’s analog version of?) Slack workspace of the Evangelion Unit Maintenance Staff. Basically everything interests me about this unseen supportive layer— the SOPs, the office memos, the email/fax chains, blueprints, requisition forms, anything! Original and canon characters both welcome, and tonally I’m down for either apocalyptic military drama/tragedy or “filler episode” goofiness. (Or, as NGE often is, a mix of the two.) The contrast of the surreal/mundane is key here: every day you have to wake up and go to work, but work is repairing the ankle joint of a huge mech that grows skin if the teenager piloting it freaks his little gourd.

IT Guy & Sentient Printers He Cares For

Spin me a tale of this modern day shepherd! My first thought is a world where this is just sort of mundane thing (maybe other appliances are sentient, maybe it’s literally just printers and nobody knows why) or perhaps it’s the office’s worst kept secret, the hows don’t matter so much to me as the potential for comedy. Some alternative mediums I think would be super fun to see here include stuff like Slack messages, office memos, internal FAQ/troubleshooting documents or knowledge base guides, that kind of thing. I would request that none of the printers are damaged beyond repair or scrapped, and if any of them are evil that they suffer villain decay or go through a redemption arc.
